Giving Back Starts In Our Local Community
Communicating science effectively is paramount, and it begins within our local community. By engaging those closest to us, we lay the foundation for a broader understanding and appreciation of scientific principles and discoveries. Local community interactions provide a unique opportunity to spark curiosity, address misconceptions, and inspire future generations of scientists and innovators. These grassroots efforts are essential in building a scientifically literate society, where informed decisions and advancements are made possible. It’s through these close-knit engagements that we can truly convey the significance and excitement of science, making it accessible and relevant to everyday life

Volunteering
A Dash of Science has significantly impacted our local community through a range of STEM initiatives. Our team actively participates in science fairs, not only as volunteers but also as judges in rocket competitions, inspiring young enthusiasts. We also lead STEM workshops, offering hands-on experiences that spark a passion for science and technology. Our commitment to promoting STEM education is evident in our encouragement of volunteer work in these areas, underlining our core mission to educate and inspire. This involvement demonstrates our dedication to fostering a culture of scientific curiosity and innovation.
Serving on Boards
At A Dash of Science, our commitment to STEM extends beyond local outreach; we often volunteer on boards of STEM related non-profits, such profits like the Association of Space Flight Professionals and Southern Kern Aeronautics and Rocketry. Our involvement reflects our dedication to enhancing STEM education and professional development on a broader scale.
Teaching and Mentoring
Several members of the A Dash of Science team dedicate their time as mentors and speakers for the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars program. Through this engagement, they play a crucial role in guiding and inspiring the next generation of aerospace professionals. Our staff provide valuable insights from their experiences and knowledge in the field, offering guidance and motivation to community college students passionate about aerospace. This involvement not only enriches the students’ educational journey but also reinforces our commitment to nurturing future talent in the aerospace sector.
